Day 8. 1 Peter 1

Day 8. 1 Peter 1 - Part 1

Peter doesn't disappoint with the shear amount of depth in this one chapter!

He is writing this letter to the dispersed saints who find themselves in exile and under who knows what kind of persecution and hardship. But they weren't there by mistake or happenstance. They were there by the will and foreknowledge of God.

During their trial, Peter reminds them they (and we by extension) have an incredible HOPE .. a Living Hope because of the resurrection of Jesus. Their circumstances have no bearing on the hope they have in Him.

In the middle of the badness, the loneliness, they were guarded by His power then, but even that power wasn't yet what it will be when He is revealed in the last days.

This spiritual cover is in mind when he tells the saints to get their minds ready for action and embrace diligent and unwavering obedience to the Lord's commands; regardless of the circumstance.

In the middle of their turmoil, they are admonished to "be holy, as He is holy". And so are we.

People often misunderstand what it means to be holy, but that will have to wait for Part 2!

If we decide to go with this route, they will all come through here and will show up in your email as well.
